Historic Britain is a work in progress cataloguing Britain’s Heritage and your thoughts and experiences of it, we hope you can tell us what you think about each site, whether it’s a stretch of coastline or grand historic house, we’re waiting to hear.
By sharing your experiences you’re helping to build a truly useful resource that will be referenced for years, even decades to come. Photos are also important so if you’re willing to share some snaps we’ll be very glad to receive and publish them on the site. Please email them to us at photos@historicbritain.org telling us where and when they were taken.
Our goal is to have a page for every historic location in the UK, we’re not under-estimating this task so if you feel you can provide some information on a site that is not yet listed or feel you can improve upon what we currently have please send any contributions to contributions@historicbritain.org
Rating Sites
The aim of HistoricBritian.org is to make available real comments from real visitors accompanied by user submitted photos of every British Heritage site. In addition to this we’ve introduced a rating system that will provide a quick overview to determine the suitability of a location to visit, when rating a site please take into consideration the rating guide below and remember, a low rating in the facilities category is not necessarily a bad point.
Facilities Rating
Excellent range of facilities suitable for all ages and abilities.
Good facilities suitable for all ages and abilities.
Standard facilities suitable for all ages and abilities.
Facilities may not be available for some age groups or abilities, check before visiting.
Limited or no facilities, check before visiting.
Family Friendly Rating
Excellent range of family facilities including but not limited to kids playgrounds etc.
Good site accessible for families with large open play areas.
Standard family facilities suitable for a good day out.
Few family facilities, kids may get bored.
Limited or no family facilities, access may be difficult with young children.
Value for Money Rating
Excellent value for money for a great day out.
Good value for money.
