Brownsea Island (No Comments)

An island wildlife haven of woodland, wetland and heath. Brownsea Island is a beautiful setting for walks, picnics and exploring this sanctuary for red squirrels in the south.
The island was also the first ‘test’ camp for Robert Baden-Powell’s Scouts in 1907.

Archaeological remains of one of the largest Romano-British villas found in Britain. Discovered in 1864 the site has revealed over a mile of walls as well as mosaics, bathhouses and water shrine.
